Sweeny Chhabra

Sweeny is a Clinical Consultant with Siemens Canada and is currently working on several healthcare improvement projects across the country. Prior to working with Siemens, she was on the executive committees of several organizations within the U of T network. Sweeny has also served as a volunteer at a nursing homes and a daycare centre, and contributes each year to the CIBC run for the Cure to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Why I chose to volunteer with Endeavour:
Endeavour is brimming with exceptionally talented individuals that have worked hard to make the organization what it is today. Volunteering with Endeavour gives me the unique opportunity to utilize my consulting skills towards the benefit of a non-profit. Additionally, as an engagement manager, it is an excellent way to practice managing a team while aiming to achieve each person’s personal and team goals along with client objectives.

I joined the Endeavour Consulting Network to be able to apply my skills from private industry to the not-for-profit sector. Kendy Lau

Kendy Lau has sat on the executive board of AIESEC, the world’s largest student run non-profit organization. By approaching companies to raise internships for AIESEC, she has established close links with local business communities. Her consulting experience working with large scale NPOs and social entrepreneurs gives her insight into developing the business model as well as soliciting external support and guidance. Kendy also has extensive marketing work experiences which will assist the team in developing promotional plans.

Why I chose to volunteer with Endeavour:
As a global citizen, I believe while we have privileges to exercise rights, we also have responsibilities that we should fulfill. Nevertheless, life is about touching the lives of others and contributing to the betterment of the society and environment. Tanya Rumble

She incorporates her diverse upbringing in the United Arab Emirates, and travels to over 60 countries in her work. Tanya posses technical expertise in the areas of Health Promotion, Public Health, and Integrated Marketing Communication for Behavioural Impact (COMBI). She spent the month of July 2009 as a participant in the Integrated Marketing Communication for Behavioural Impact (COMBI) in Health & Social Development certificate program at New York University in collaboration with the World Health Organization, and was a member of the Winning COMBI Plan Team. Why I chose to volunteer with Endeavour:
I see a future where the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are realized, resulting in a drastic reduction in global poverty achieved through public-private partnership, social entrepreneurship, and resource mobilization locally and globally. I am personally committed to pioneering the social change required to ensure the MDGs are accomplished by 2015, as such the opportunity to become involved with Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits seemed a natural fit. This unique opportunity to provide high-quality pro bono consulting to non-profits in the Greater Toronto Area will allow me to assist organizations in realizing their missions, and ultimately supporting the delivery of programs and services to their client populations- an excellent example of management principles providing social benefits.

One of the main reasons why I choose to volunteer with Endeavour is because I wholeheartedly believe in their vision of making consulting services available to non-profit and social mission organizations. I believe in giving back to the society, the community and helping the less fortunate. Also, volunteering with Endeavour is a great way to meet and learn from other like minded individuals.
