Founded in 2007 by a team of University of Toronto alumni, Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits (Endeavour) brings together skilled volunteers to provide pro-bono management consulting to non-profit and social mission organizations in Toronto and neighbouring cities. Volunteer Role
To support our growing success, we are looking for a self-motivated, hardworking and committed individual to join our team as Webmaster. This person will be responsible for helping to maintain and build Endeavour’s professional image and communications with the public through our website (www.endeavourvolunteer.ca). Our website reflects the professionalism, quality, energy and talent of our people and organization, and is regularly updated to communicate and promote our work to the public. It is usually the public’s first, and most frequent, point of contact with our organization. Website visitors and users include potential, current and former volunteers (including industry professionals, university professors, graduate students, and undergrads), clients, partners and supporters.
This position offers a great opportunity to build your portfolio, exercise and showcase your creativity, join a growing organization of energetic volunteers from diverse fields, and learn more about consulting and the non-profit sector.
Working closely with the guidance of our Director of Information Technology and President, the Webmaster will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and building upon our well-designed website, including regularly updating the website with content and images
- Creating and ensuring consistent content layouts, and image specs (e.g. size and quality)
- Suggesting and implementing enhancements (e.g. layout design, tools to optimize efficiency)
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who has:
- The skills to carry out the above-mentioned responsibilities
- A sense of urgency (the ability to update the website quickly!)
- Strong initiative to get things done and implement improvements
- Attention to detail
- A knack for simple, eye-catching design
Preferred:
- Experience with PHP and graphics
- Enthusiasm for non-profit sector
