Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits is an independent non-profit offering pro-bono strategy consulting in management and business to non-profit or social-mission organizations in Toronto and neighbouring cities to help strengthen and sustain impact in the non-profit and social sectors. Role & Responsibilities
 
Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits is looking for an experienced communicator to join our team as Director, Communications & Public Relations.  You will play an integral role in enhancing the visibility, profile and reach of young and growing non-profit.  

Responsibilities of this portfolio include the following:

Communications:

  • Working with our executives and advisors to develop and execute our communications strategy
  • Developing key messages and ensuring consistency of key messages
  • Writing, reviewing and editing copy for various communications, such as our press releases, annual report, website, newsletter, case studies, brochures, social media pages, special events, etc.
  • Supporting the communication needs of other executives
  • Monitoring the environment to analyze effectiveness of strategies and tactics, and to identify new opportunities

Public/Media Relations 

  • Working with our executives and advisors to develop and execute our public/media relations strategy
  • Identifying and approaching mainstream and online media to deliver key messages and other communications
  • Developing and managing relationships with the public and media
  • Researching and assisting with applications to award competitions for Endeavour
  • Monitoring the environment to analyze effectiveness of strategies and tactics, and to identify new opportunities

Brand Management

  • Acting as brand steward to ensure consistent application of brand in communications and materials by Endeavour volunteers, clients, partners, supporters and the public, including conducting brand audits
  • Helping to promote and integrate the concept of pro bono consulting into the business community
  • Monitoring the environment to identify new opportunities to enhance our brand

Project Management

  • Leading and managing communications/PR projects, such as the production and promotion of annual reports

Executive

  • Contributing to the organization’s strategic directions and growth, including participating in Executive Team meetings

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who fits the following profile to join our team as the Director, Communications & Public Relations:

  • Experience in communications and public/media relations, including knowledge of communications/PR/media relations practices, standards and trends
  • Excellent communications, writing, editing, public speaking, relationship management, and planning skills
  • Ability to collaborate and deliver results in a virtual work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An existing network of PR/media contacts and PR resources/solutions in Toronto and surrounding regions
  • Experience working in the non-profit sector
