Organization
The Always Nubian, Always Scarborough Association (A.N.A.S.A.) Collective, A Trustee Program of Schools Without Borders is a not-for-profit initiative administered by its charitable partner, Schools Without Borders. It is an emerging organization determined to invest in the prosperity of women of colour. A.N.A.S.A.’s mission is to support under-serviced girls and women through their growth and developmental changes from a holistic perspective. A.N.A.S.A.’s current initiatives include Project Phoenix, which explores pre-employment preparation for young women from a holistic approach. For seven months starting in March 2009 this pilot project aims to define the needs of young women ages 15-24 primarily of African ancestry from Scarborough with respect to their employment goals.
