Organization
Incorporated in 2005, The 411 Initiative For Change (411) undertakes public education and the promotion of civic participation of young people on social issues that frame their development within their communities. 411 works to build and strengthen the national action movement on common global issues, in their domestic and international contexts. Using music and young musicians, 411’s programming has reached over 200,000 young Canadians in 21 cities and regions nationwide. The organization’s project format, strategies and delivery have captured the attention of many individuals, organizations, academics and educators, foundations, arts councils, government departments and funding agencies, garnering communication and outreach support from numerous national print, online, television and radio broadcasting outlets, and the commitment, involvement and interest of artists in the mass media and from music industry professionals.
