Endeavour is currently led by six executives and five advisors working in consulting, industry, the public sector, and academia. To learn more about us, visit www.endeavourvolunteer.ca.

Projects

We are currently looking for skilled, committed and enthusiastic volunteers to participate in projects beginning in May 2008. The projects are expected to last from three to six months depending on the client’s needs. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work in a small team on one of the following potential projects:

  • Strategy development for an advocacy group for gifted children
  • Sustainability strategy development and business planning for a youth cabinet
  • Strategy development and business planning for an organization that helps visually impaired children
Volunteer Roles

Each consulting team is composed of 3-5 consultants led by an engagement manager. Support will be provided to the consulting teams through ongoing feedback from advisors, an orientation, mid-term and final review sessions, and an online resource centre.

The engagement manager is responsible for leading the consulting project, including managing the relationship between the team and the client, and consulting with the advisor. The consultants are responsible for specific pieces of project work. As an engagement manager or consultant, you will participate in:

  • An orientation, mid-term review session and final presentation event
  • Client meetings
  • Research, analysis and recommendations
  • Presentations to the advisors and client
  • Sharing your experience
  • Providing feedback
Dedicated volunteers will have the opportunity to continue volunteering as a consultant/engagement manager for future projects.

Using your skills and knowledge to give back to the community can be an extremely meaningful and rewarding experience. As a volunteer with Endeavour, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with and develop friendships with like-minded individuals
  • Network with and learn from consultants, industry professionals, and community leaders
  • Gain exposure to different areas of work and discover potential career paths
  • Gain consulting experience
  • Help a new organization grow
  • Volunteer on a flexible schedule
