Role

The goal of the Research and Evaluation unit is to measure and improve Endeavour’s impact with nonprofit clients, volunteers and partners.  In order to assess its impact Endeavour conducts various surveys and interviews.  The Manager of Research and Evaluation will work with the Director of Research and Evaluation to implement and monitor data collection and to process the information for use throughout Endeavour.

Responsibilities

The position’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Contributing to evaluation planning
  • Collecting qualitative (e.g. interviews) and quantitative (e.g. closed-ended survey questions) data from nonprofit management and Endeavour volunteers
  • Coordinating with others to make sure data collection is occurring as planned
  • Guiding other team members regarding data collection and analysis
  • Analyzing data and providing recommendations
  • Writing results/research summaries and preparing presentations
  • Working with Marketing to support the development of case studies
  • Assisting in presenting results
  • Attending meetings

Qualifications

Required:

  • University degree in the social sciences or management (e.g. sociology, psychology, nonprofit management, business, etc.)
  • 2 years experience conducting program evaluation
  • Project management experience
  • Experience managing others
  • Experience writing reports
  • Experience collaborating and delivering results in a virtual work environment (e.g. Google documents, Google pools/surveys, Skype meetings, etc.)
  • Availability to attend meetings in downtown Toronto
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Great organizational and time management skills

Assets:

  • Experience writing up research results for both rapid learning and promotion of an organization’s achievements.
  • Membership in an evaluation society
  • Consulting experience
  • Experience working with small nonprofits
