Role

Endeavour is looking for a volunteer to join the Talent and Strategy Division as Co-Director of Volunteer Recruitment and Retention. The Co-Director will be responsible for the recruitment and selection of both internal and external volunteers, as well as development of initiatives to enhance volunteer retention.

Responsibilities

  • For both internal (executive team, committee members, etc.) and external (volunteer consultants and engagement managers) positions, managing and continually enhancing recruitment strategy and process, which encompasses recruitment (advertising and application process), screening, interviewing, selection and project staffing
  • Managing the collection, distribution and storage of volunteer agreement forms and profile information
  • Recruiting and managing the Recruitment Committee to carry out volunteer recruitment responsibilities
  • Attending community events to speak with attendees about Endeavour’s volunteer opportunities
  • Attending Endeavour events to speak with current and past volunteers about returning volunteer opportunities
  • Managing re-staffing process for returning volunteers
  • Coordinating with divisions the recruitment and selection of volunteers for internal positions
  • Contributing to organizational sustainability through actively participating in initiatives such as the Corporate Portal
  • Managing recruitment@endeavourvolunteer.ca account, including responding to volunteer inquiries, forwarding messages to appropriate executives, and archiving
  • Managing the volunteer database that maintains information on applicants and volunteers (e.g. email contacts, project information, confidential information) and support data insight activities – e.g. data required for marketing and strategy development
  • Developing and implementing strategies to increase volunteer engagement and retention for consulting engagements and internal positions
  • Documenting and refining Endeavour’s volunteer management processes

Qualifications

Required:

  • Long-term commitment to Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits
  • Ability to collaborate and deliver results in a virtual work environment
  • Strong motivation and initiative to take the lead in carrying out responsibilities and identifying and implementing new initiatives to enhance the recruitment and retention portfolio
  • Ability to manage and promptly respond to daily email communications
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to improve current processes
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional weekend work and increased demands during recruitment cycle peaks
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Preferred:

  • Former/existing Endeavour consultant or engagement manager an asset
  • Prior experience with volunteer recruitment and retention an asset
  • Prior experience with Endeavour Recruitment Committee an asset
