Endeavour is a Canadian charity that recruits, trains and matches teams of skilled volunteers with non-profit organizations in need of management consulting. Endeavour focuses on helping non-profits that otherwise cannot afford professional consulting to build capacity and improve community impact. Since 2007, Endeavour has recruited and managed more than 700 volunteers to provide management advice to over 100 non-profit organizations, helping communities in many areas, such as the arts, children and family services, disabilities, education, environment, healthcare, immigrant services, rural development, skills training, poverty relief, and youth development. The goal of the Evaluation unit is to measure and improve Endeavour’s impact with nonprofit clients, volunteers and partners. Endeavour is currently looking to recruit a Co-Director of Evaluation to share duties with the current Director of Evaluation. The Co-Directors will work together to:

  • Guide and manage Endeavour’s evaluation efforts
  • Produce evaluation findings
  • Help Endeavour use evaluation to improve and expand its work


Working in collaboration with the current Director of Evaluation, the position’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Contributing to evaluation planning
  • Coordinating with other divisions, the President and board members to determine evaluation priorities, questions, and data collection methods
  • Developing data collection tools, e.g. surveys, interview guides, etc.
  • Collecting evaluation data
  • Recruiting and managing a team of Evaluation Associates in collecting, analyzing, sharing and reporting evaluation data (both qualitative and quantitative)
  • Training team members in data collection and analysis
  • Writing results/research summaries and giving presentations
  • Working with Marketing & Communications Division and the President to communicate Endeavour’s impact
  • Participating in quarterly meetings with the executive team and meetings with team members as required
  • Maintaining organizational information for the Evaluation unit on the corporate portal, including evaluation data, data collection tools, processes, contact and account information, etc.



  • University degree in the social sciences or management (e.g. sociology, psychology, nonprofit management, business, etc.)
  • 2 years experience conducting program evaluation
  • Project management experience
  • Experience managing others
  • Experience writing reports & summaries of findings for both continuous performance improvement and promotion of an organization’s achievements
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of online survey tools
  • Strong knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative methods and analysis
  • Availability to attend meetings in Toronto
  • Experience collaborating and delivering results in a virtual work environment (e.g. Google documents, Google pools/surveys, Skype meetings, etc.)


  • Membership in an evaluation society
  • Consulting experience
  • Experience working with small nonprofits


  • Gain applied experience in all aspects of conducting evaluation to increase an organization’s impact
  • Gain experience in volunteer and project management
  • Gain insights into what results in successful consulting engagements with small nonprofits, ranging from local grassroots groups to established national charities
  • Gain insights into small nonprofit challenges, including evaluation challenges
  • Opportunities to present and publish on Endeavour’s research
  • Build relationships with a diverse group of professionals and leaders in consulting, industry, the social sector, and academia.
  • Contribute to the growth and success of a charity recognized as a Canadian leader in the skills-based volunteering/pro bono field
