Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits (Endeavour) is a registered Canadian charity that provides management consulting to improve organizational capacity and community impact. We focus on serving non-profit organizations that otherwise cannot afford professional consulting.

Since 2007, Endeavour has recruited and managed more than 700 volunteers to provide management advice to more than 100 non-profit organizations in Ontario, helping communities in many areas, such as the arts, children and family services, disabilities, education, environment, healthcare, immigrant services, rural development, skills training, poverty relief, and youth development.

Role

Endeavour is looking for a volunteer to join the Consulting Division as Co-Director, Client Relations. We are seeking a volunteer that is able to make a 1-2 year commitment with Endeavour. Make a great impact on the success of Endeavour by helping to ensure that Endeavour and our clients are a great fit, we’re able to provide the service and strategies required, and clients are able to significantly increase their social impact through an engagement with us. Engage a diverse range of non-profit organizations and help to build lasting client relationships. There’s also potential for you to take initiative in process improvement activities and contribute to the strategic direction of Endeavour.

Responsibilities

As Co-Director, Client Relations you will be responsible for the following areas:

Client Outreach and Client Relations

  • Represent Endeavour by responding to inquiries from non-profit executives regarding services, the client application process, and eligibility criteria
  • Drive outreach activities to attract the right non-profit organizations to apply for our volunteer consulting services, including collaboration with Endeavour’s Marketing division on client outreach initiatives
  • Conduct client outreach during project rounds to foster relationship-building and support issue resolution
  • Attend final client presentations and perform activities to transition client from engagement to Endeavour evaluation processes at the end of each project round
  • Support post-round client follow-up evaluations

Client Selection

  • Develop and execute semi-annual client selection work plan and milestones
  • Lead the Client Selection Committee (CSC) composed of 4-5 members in client selection processes, including:
    • Alignment meetings/calls
    • Application evaluations, interviews, finalize client selection with input from CSC, advisors and executive team, and all related documentation
    • Seeking advisor pertaining to eligibility or application-related questions, as required
    • Client agreement and information forms
    • Collaborate with Human Resources to support volunteer recruitment by providing updates on client selection
    • Knowledge transfer of client information with consulting teams

Other

  • Ongoing management and maintenance of client information on internal systems and public website
  • Participate in quarterly Executive meetings to support operational initiatives, strategy, planning and alignment
  • Propose and lead process improvement initiatives related to Client Relations
  • Present at Endeavour training events
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in a client-facing role and managing a team of direct reports
  • Strong motivation and initiative to take the lead in carrying out responsibilities, and identifying and implementing new initiatives to improve client selection process
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills
  • Proven analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • Experience collaborating and delivering results in a virtual work environment (e.g. Google Drive/Docs/Surveys, Doodle, Skype, GoToMeeting, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Availability to attend / conduct:
    • CSC training (2 hours) and Co-Director training (ongoing)
    • CSC application screening and interviews with non-profit organizations in June-July and January-February
    • Knowledge transfer activities with consulting teams in September-October and March-April
  • Long-term commitment (1-2+ years) to Endeavour
  • Available to travel to subway-accessible meeting spaces in the Toronto area
  • Previous Endeavour experience is an asset
  • Previous experience working with non-profit clients is an asset
