Join us for our interactive workshop, beginning with a presentation by one of Canada’s best know strategy and technology consultants, Jim Love, Fellow, Certified Management Consultant, who will discuss how you can develop and sustain a career in consulting, including:

  • What a career in consulting entails and if consulting is right for you
  • How you can start and develop a successful career in consulting
  • What you need to sustain a consulting career in times of economic change

    The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Abe Patricio, CMC, and featuring Fiorella Callocchia of HR Impact, Jim Love of Performance Advantage, and Cleve Lu of Era Integrated Marketing Communications. The panellists will:
  • Share their experiences and advice in developing and sustaining a career in consulting
  • Answer your questions about a career in consulting

    Members from CMC-Canada’s GTA Chapter, and representatives from Endeavor’s Executive and Recruitment Committees will also be available during the networking sessions to answer your questions about our organizations and how you can get more involved.

    Presenter:

    Jim Love, FCMC
    President and Managing Partner, Performance Advantage

    Jim Love is the chair of CMC Canada’s largest member services chapter, a Fellow, Certified Management Consultant (FCMC) and President and Managing Partner of Performance Advantage, a Canadian consulting company with international reach and experience in a range of industries, including financial services, natural resources, aerospace, health care, government, manufacturing, and high tech.

    Jim is a consulting veteran with over 30 years of experience in both senior business and IT roles.  His consulting career has included roles as Global Vice President for DMR Consulting and Principal at Ernst & Young.  Jim is an expert in a number of consulting disciplines, including Strategy, Performance Metrics, Lean & Six Sigma, Portfolio Management, and Program Planning.  He is passionate about leveraging people, processes and technology to enable high performance teams.

    Jim has written numerous publications and is a frequent contributor to prestigious journals such as the U.S. based Cutter Journal.  His recent articles include “Getting On the Same Page - Dashboards and Strategic Metrics”, May 2006, “Get Real With Strategic Budgeting”, March 2006 and “SOX Without Losing Your Shirt - Compliance and Process Transformation”, September 2005.  He is currently working on a new series entitled “Portfolio Management Without Tears”.

    Fiorella Callocchia, CMC, CHRP
    President, HR Impact

    Fiorella Callocchia, a savvy and visionary entrepreneur, is President of HR Impact, a firm specializing in creating customized, practical and innovative workplace solutions.

    Fiorella established HR Impact in 1989 and since that time has built an exceptionally successful business based 100% on referrals from satisfied clients.

    Author of Canada’s first HR Audit tool, Fiorella is a regular guest on the Business News Network and 103.9 ProudFM radio and has appeared as an “HR Expert” on CTV’s The Verdict, CBC Radio, Slice TV’s “Plastic Makes Perfect” and Investment Television.

    Fiorella is also a well-known conference and key note speaker who has taught various HR courses for the Human Resources Professionals Association and Canadian Management Centre.

    Her unique approaches have been featured in various online and print publications including Canadian Business Magazine, The Globe & Mail, Chatelaine, Workopolis.com and Jobboom.com.  She has also written articles for The Canadian HR Reporter, Workplace News and The Toronto Business Times.

    A Certified Human Resources Professional and CMC, Fiorella was awarded the prestigious Ross Hennigar Award for outstanding contribution to the HR profession.  Her extensive client list includes fast-growth entrepreneurial organizations as well as Fortune 500 corporations.

    Cleve Lu, CMC
    CEO, Era Integrated

    Cleve Lu founded Era Integrated. He has been the President, Advisor and Executive member of the Chinese Canadian Advertising, Marketing & Media Association (CCAMMA). He is presently an Executive member of the American Marketing Association as well as the member of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters, the Institute of Communications and Advertising and BC Advertising Agency Association.

    He is a guest speaker and lecturer at the Canadian Institute, Federal Business Development Bank, Centennial College and the American Marketing Association on topics such as "Ethnic advertising", "Small Business Marketing" and "How to reach the ethnic markets".

    Over the past six years, he has been an Event advisor, Chairman, Executive Producer and Organizer for organizations & associations that have organized the Dragon Boat festival, Centennial Hospital Charity Ball, CCAMA advertising creative awards dinner, "Sing for your heart", Jackie Chan: "Rumble in the Bronx" press conference and the "Concert en Cirque" 1997.

    In early 2000, Cleve's name was published in the marketing magazine "Year 2000: Who's Who in Marketing" and also in University of Toronto Press-"Canadian Who's Who", book because of his achievement and contribution to the Canadian multicultural advertising industry. Recently OMNI TV interviewed him, on the multicultural advertising work in Canada. Canadian Business showcased the Trimark case study and Cleve's strategic inputs in the communication.

    Cleve has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Chu Hai College and a Master's degree in advertising from Michigan State University.

    Abe Patricio is Manager, Strategic Initiatives for Sears Canada. He is involved in the development of new business opportunities and improving operational performance from design and development to program implementation. His professional background and experience has been focused in the areas of project management, process reengineering and business development. He has been consistently successful in improving business performance and achieving business growth with years of experience in the retail industry and management consulting.

    Abe has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and an MBA from Schulich School of Business, York University.
