Our consulting team is made up of our project advisor, Jane Zhang, our engagement manager, Danielle Thibodeau, our senior consultant Henry Chang and four consultants, Rashid Abu-Ghazalah, Daniel Park, Neeharika Tummala and myself, Bryana Lee, all of whom have been a pleasure to work with...."

July 2008

By Chuck Siu, Consultant

"The first month of our consulting project with TechSoup Canada focused on understanding the needs of our client, the skill sets of the consulting team members and the project schedule. Through aggressive research on marketing models and the experience of the founding partners in the U.S., the consulting team will develop a marketing plan in hopes to maximize the penetration to the Canadian non-profit market by TechSoup Canada..." "After a few months into our project, our team has made tremendous progress; not only in building a more tangible goal for the project, but the development of a much stronger client-consultant relationship. Initially our team was set off to accomplish a wish list from the client..."

December 2007

By Sofia Stefou, Engagement Manager

"The TORC team which includes Andrew, Tatjana, Tara and myself, as well as our Project Supervisors, Andrea and Narad, and last but certainly not least, our Advisor, Alex, has been really enthusiastic about getting started on the project for TORC's Rural Youth Working Group (RYWG). Although we are at the very beginning stages of getting the project off the ground, we are very confident that we will be starting shortly..." "Good news! We are well on our way to digging into the research portion of the project, and are coming up with some interesting information. We are learning about what information we have versus what information we need to have. This has made us all think creatively about how to find more resources that fall into line with what the client is looking for..."

February 2008

By Sofia Stefou, Engagement Manager

"Well it looks like we have gotten through another month. This one has definitely gone by rather quickly! We were able to finish off our research and had the opportunity to present our findings to a working group committee on January 13th. During the meeting, we were able to get a rough idea of what the toolkit could or should actually include..." "Well it looks like the project is now officially completed. While it is a tremendous occasion to celebrate, I can honestly say I am sad to see it go. It was an amazing experience to have been able to work with Tara, Tatjana and Andrew and our client Nichole. They are all such lovely people and have been an absolute joy..."

December 2007

"It has been more than a month since our team received our project assignment at the orientation. The orientation was indeed a helpful event. We were introduced to the industry of management consulting and basic consulting skills. Professionalism was shown from the executive team and the speakers, and I was convinced that strong support would be provided from the executives and our advisors..." "This month has been marked by significant progress and in-depth research on the topics of organization design, fundraising strategy and marketing mechanism as promised to our client, EYC. We ended the month on a high note after presenting our initial recommendations and now wait eagerly to continue collaborating with our client in the new year..."

April 2008

By Claire Shen, Engagement Manager

"Our last meeting with EYC in December was very beneficial for both sides. EYC's core team is very enthusiastic and passionate about the direction they want to go in, and as consultants, our team is also gaining much exposure, experience and most importantly, we're learning about the skills that make a consultant successful. I want this journal entry to be focused more on the soft skills of successful consulting as opposed to merely listing out the milestones we've accomplished thus far..." "About two years ago, when I read an article about the Nobel Peace Prize winner Mr. Muhammad Yunus' micro-credit practice in rural India, I was inspired by the idea of social enterprise. I was also curious to explore a few questions behind the popularity of the not-for-profit sector in Canada, such as how the not-for-profit organizations work, who are they and how they connect with society, etc. I got the name of Endeavour through a friend who worked in Rotman Nexus and applied to explore the answers to my questions..."
